Computer Hardware For UAVs – Capitalizing on Synergies, Swarming, and Cost Reduction
Dec 20th

It is amazing what the human mind will come up with when faced with a problem. As America came under attack from international terrorism, and as the rest of the world decided that we must do something about all this. Unmanned aerial vehicles came into the picture as the obvious answer.
They are able to loiter far above the land and look down at what’s going on and monitor the terrorists and then one by one remove them from the present time period. Today the computer hardware for UAVs is quite advanced; the operator sits in a room looking at a TV screen, and flies the air craft just as if he is in a Microsoft simulator playing a video game.
There is also lots of other computer hardware in conjunction with the satellite relay system in the unmanned aerial vehicle itself. Further, scientists and engineers have been able to hook many UAVs together so the person flying the UAV is only actually flying one of the airplanes, but there are five others fly in formation with it that are “slaved” to its guidance system and they thus, all steered by the computer hardware at the command-and-control module.
This means that not every UAV needs all that computer-hardware, rather they are slaved to the UAV that has the extra-componentry.
This saves costs, and creates synergies using a swarming system strategy. By saving money on equipment and staying efficient, we are able to monitor more with fewer resources and have the capacity needed to win the war on terror. Please consider all this.
Upgrade your computer easily and at a fraction of the cost of a new one
Jan 24th

Let’s upgrade a computer internally instead of buying a new one? WHY
It saves cash in these hard pressed times, it preserves the files you already have on your pc, and it keeps your present footrest close to your feet.
Let’s upgrade with “up to date” hardware. See further on in my guide for more info on this option. Let’s bite the bullet and go for a hardware upgrade. Let us reiterate that the Industry Standard Architecture rule comes into vogue here. On this basis manufacturers of hardware are bound to make computer hardware so that it can be fitted into any casing, coupled to any other hardware and manufactured by anybody as long as the hardware itself conforms to the same industry standard.
Let us assess typically an Emachine with a socket 478 motherboard. The motherboard has blown the power supply has gone down with it and you have a perfectly good machine otherwise. We have already discussed the replacement to the same specification and the only gains will be to restore a computer to its original condition with now increase to speed and performance.
Let’s see how to measure the case for fitting an upgrade kit?
Measurements to note when choosing a replacement motherboard. For example we will upgrade an Emachine (usually dead slow!) Standard E-Machine motherboards are usually approx’ 245 x 230mm. A replacement board will be approx 24.5 x 20.5cm
The Costs Involved.
We will decide to upgrade the computer hardware to bring about the use of up to date hardware and fit it into our emachine case which is still in good condition with our current, data packed hard drive. We will fit a new motherboard, processor, cooling fan and memory upgrade.
Hidden Costs of Cheap Hosting Packages and Low Cost Web Hosting
Jan 11th
The one who is planning to have an economic web hosting plan, knowing what services he/she requires, the amount that he/she should pay for them can help one pick out hidden costs that could launch one’s selected cheap hosting plan into an expense that one just can’t afford. The following are some of the points to keep in mind while selecting a cheap web hosting for personal or business web site.
A La Carte Pricing
One should not be pulled in by impossibly low prices. Due to intense competition and due to resellers ,the prices of web hosting have came down to just bottom, still one should expect to pay for quality, dependable, professional web hosting services. A la carte prices can give an impression that a web hosting plan is incredible good deal, but one should be prepared to know exactly what he/she needs and what he/she will be paying for it. When one add in setup fees, upgrade fees and additional monthly fees for things like scripting support, a mySQL database and php support, one can end up paying far more for his/her affordable plan. Thus it’s better to opt for a little expensive plan but which is without any hidden costs.
Read the Fine Print
One should read through every little entry in the comparison chart to see for what one is being charged for, and what fees he/she might incur if he/she will go over his/her monthly limits. In case there is anything not clear or is not listed properly, one should immediately email the company to ask what they charge for particular services and if there’s a setup fee. Thus it will tell one more than just how much the services cost. Not only will that one also get an idea about the effectiveness of support and help of the provider.
Precautions to Low Cost Hosting
Dec 18th

Hosts providing low cost services declareDoes cheap means an awful thing? Perhaps not always! However, today’s competitive market scenario demands for sensible customers. to the user that, “he/she will have entire world in the fist just for Rs. 900 per year” but, in reality user even struggle to get basic services. Some of the users may surprise from the previously mentioned statement. But, clarity will be provided in the upcoming statements.
For describing web host in a synchronized manner, one can say that a “web host” is a company involved in the business of acquiring bandwidth (internet connectivity) and servers (glorified computers) with an intention to re-sell it, but in smaller amount, to people who demands for storage space for their concerning e-mails and websites. The process is usually done by renting dedicated servers in the company of a decent hard drive plus bandwidth quota and then employing a control panel to split the server resources up into smaller masses termed as ‘hosting plans’. The key objective is to balance such plans in a way that it can benefit both client and host in terms of reasonability and profit respectively.
A chaos of new web hosts increases by the day, due to easy entry and profitable business in this market. This makes the market competitive providing direct benefit to the customer. There are several cases where it happened that the provider in order to get market share decided to offer cheap prices and as soon as he/she started getting customers he/she revised it. Before anybody realizes it, the game is almost over. This is quite seen in country like Pakistan and that too every 10 months after.
“Nice”, one will say or not? Go on…
Software Maintenance Implications on Cost and Schedule
Jul 5th
Abstract
The dictionary defines maintenance as, “The work of keeping something in proper order.” However, this definition does not necessarily fit for software. Software maintenance is different from hardware maintenance because software doesn’t physically wear out, but often gets less useful with age. Software is typically delivered with undiscovered flaws. Therefore, software maintenance is: “The process of modifying existing operational software while leaving its primary functions intact.” Maintenance typically exceeds fifty percent of the systems’ life cycle cost . While software maintenance can be treated as a level of effort activity, there are consequences on quality, functionality, reliability, cost and schedule that can be mitigated through the use of parametric estimation techniques.
1. INTRODUCTION
One of the greatest challenges facing software engineers is the management of change control. It has been estimated that the cost of change control can be between 40% and 70% of the life cycle costs . Software engineers have hoped that new languages and new process would greatly reduce these numbers; however this has not been the case. Fundamentally this is because software is still delivered with a significant number of defects. Capers Jones estimates that there are about 5 bugs per Function Point created during Development . Watts Humphrey found “… even experienced software engineers normally inject 100 or more defects per KSLOC . Capers Jones says, “A series of studies the defect density of software ranges from 49.5 to 94.5 errors per thousand lines of code .” The purpose of this article is to first review the fundamentals of software maintenance and to present alternative approaches to estimating software maintenance. A key element to note is that development and management decisions made during the development process can significantly affect the developmental cost and the resulting maintenance costs.
