It is amazing what the human mind will come up with when faced with a problem. As America came under attack from international terrorism, and as the rest of the world decided that we must do something about all this. Unmanned aerial vehicles came into the picture as the obvious answer.

They are able to loiter far above the land and look down at what’s going on and monitor the terrorists and then one by one remove them from the present time period. Today the computer hardware for UAVs is quite advanced; the operator sits in a room looking at a TV screen, and flies the air craft just as if he is in a Microsoft simulator playing a video game.

There is also lots of other computer hardware in conjunction with the satellite relay system in the unmanned aerial vehicle itself. Further, scientists and engineers have been able to hook many UAVs together so the person flying the UAV is only actually flying one of the airplanes, but there are five others fly in formation with it that are “slaved” to its guidance system and they thus, all steered by the computer hardware at the command-and-control module.

This means that not every UAV needs all that computer-hardware, rather they are slaved to the UAV that has the extra-componentry.

This saves costs, and creates synergies using a swarming system strategy. By saving money on equipment and staying efficient, we are able to monitor more with fewer resources and have the capacity needed to win the war on terror. Please consider all this.

You must know that a network consists of more than one commuter that is linked in order to share resources. It is advantageous in that you can exchange files; allow electronic communications, even printers and CD-ROMs). There are three basic types of network that are normally used:
1. Local Area Network (LAN) 2. Metropolitan Area Network (MAN) 3. Wide Area Network
Local Area Network is confined to a small area and is generally limited to a geographical area about a mile apart to other computers. The configuration of LAN consists of software that controls the network and also the software that is shared by other computers that are attached to the network. It consists of a file server, a workstation and cables.
Metropolitan Area Network covers larger geographic areas and covers cities. They are used by local libraries and Government agencies to connect to citizens and private industries.
Wide Area Network connects larger geographic areas all over the world.

It works with transoceanic cables or satellite uplinks.
ADVANTAGES
Speed is one of the advantages. Sharing and transferring files are very fast and saves a lot of time. It does not allow any fraud connections and is very safe. Another advantage is the cost. If the copies are made individually licensing each copy becomes very expensive.
If Networkable versions are used it saves cost. The upgrading of the program becomes easier in shared programs instead of upgrading individual work stations. Security is another factor. You must know that sensitive files on a network are password protected. They are termed as ‘copy inhibit’. This does not allow illegal copying. Another advantage is the Centralized Software Management. This can be loaded on just one computer which is the file server and time and energy in installing updates and tracking them on individual computers can be eliminated. Other advantages are Resource Sharing, Electronic Mail use, flexible access and Group Work computing.
Looking through all the advantages what does a technological person think? Yes, he feels nice that communication which the most important part of today’s knowledge based work has developed very fast and is also helpful not only for science and technology but also for the common man who can connect himself to different people and places.
It is because of this fast paced communication network that globalization has become easy. The modern world has come closer to each other and each country is not an island by itself. Even continents have come closer because of the advent of information technology. Due to this economy have also improved and different types of businesses have come into being.
Another major advantage of this is that many new jobs have got created in the technical field and has provided opportunities for the new generation to earn more and have a better standard of living.
The present generations including young adults who are still in the field of education are also aware of file sharing and storage of major knowledge that they acquire. Even families have now learnt to have different modems if each member has a computer and they get interconnected using a network with just one modem and printer. Networking has resolved the problem of purchasing expensive soft wares available in the market. Software can be stored in one system or server and it can be used by different work stations.

So you want to learn how to become a network administrator. This could be your next step towards a challenging, fulfilling and rewarding career in the information technology field. The future looks bright for this career – in 2006 the Bureau of Labor Statistics estimated that the field of network administration will have grown by 18 percent by 2016, adding 155,000 new jobs. As a network administrator you can manage online functions, local area networks and wide area networks for businesses, government agencies and/or nonprofit organizations. But before anything else you will need to get some education and training.

Most network administrators enter this career after getting a bachelor’s degree in computer science, although there are other degree options. If you get an associate’s degree in computer science or a bachelor’s degree in a related field like math or engineering, but you have taken computer classes and earned the most sought-after certifications, you should still have a bright future in this industry.

Whatever educational path you take, it also really helps to complete an internship program while you’re in school. This way you’ll have some experience to boost your résumé, and you may even get a job at that company once the internship is over.

Once you have gotten your education and training out of the way, then you need to update that résumé to include all your experience and start applying for jobs. If you weren’t able to get hired at the company you interned at, try to see what kind of services your school’s career center offers. There are also online job boards geared toward network administrators and other tech jobs. You may also find some part time, temporary or freelance positions that are immediately available if you can’t find a full time job in this field right away.

It’s never been a better time to be a network administrator. The salary range for network administrators in the United States is ,520 to ,000 per year, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. With experience and merit there’s no reason why you can’t earn a salary in the top of that range.

In the field of Computer Networking support, the specializer area of network security consists of the plannings and policies adopted by the Computer network administrator and networking consultant to prevent and monitor without official authorization access, misuse, modification, or denial of the computer network and network-accessible resources.

Network installation service and security is the process of preventing and detecting unauthorized use of your computer. Prevention measures help you to stop unauthorized users (also known as “intruders”) from accessing any part of your computer system. Detection helps you to determine whether or not someone attempted to break into your system, if they were successful, and what they may have done.

The term network security refers to steps taken with the intention of protecting your computer and data network of threats from Trojan horses, worms, viruses, ad ware, hacker attacks, spyware, denial of service attacks, identity theft and theft by data interception.

In short, network support services measures are implemented to protect the computers in your office by ensuring their integrity, reliability, usability and safety of your computer network and data.

Effective network security targets a variety of threats and stops them from entering or spreading on your network.

Implementation of Network Security
To better understand its implementation, let us consider a hypothetical example. Let us assume a new Fort Knox was being setup and you were in charge of its security.

How would you go about ensuring the security of the vault and the bank in general?

You would probably want to start at the vault itself by building one of solid steel or titanium having three feet thickness or so. The thickness would make it impervious to drilling or even powerful blasts. Then you would probably install movement detectors, heat detectors and tremor sensors. For the vault door itself you would probably want to use the world’s best locking system controlled by two or more authorized personnel. Moving one layer ahead, you might consider it a good idea to have a posse of security guards to prevent all but only authorized personnel from approaching the vault and so on. In other words, you would rely on several measures implemented like layers of an onion. And that is also exactly how computer network and data security measures are implemented – there is no one particular software or hardware rather, it is several measures implemented at several levels.

All these measures need to be reviewed no less than once a year because hackers and malicious software creators quickly learn how to bypass your security measures by hard work, sheer ingenuity and lots of skill. Computer network even includes your peripheral and communication devices. Hackers are known to routinely hack into the telephone network, pretend to be an authorized employee and phone up the system administrator to request that the password to a certain computer or wifi router be reset. A few seconds is all it takes for the hacker to get into your computer system.

Network security services and measures include but are not limited to installation of up-to-date anti-virus and anti-spyware, anti-adware, properly configured state-of-the-art firewalls, intrusion prevention systems and virtual private networks (VPN’s), to ensure secure remote access.

Major Benefits of Network Security
A good network security ensures that your company meets the mandatory regulatory compliance because network security helps protect sensitive data and reduces the risk of legal action from affected parties due to data theft. Network Security also saves your company a lot of embarrassment by not getting bad media attention that follows any security breach, it also protects from unwanted (and usually expensive) disruptions. Ultimately, network security ensures the protection of your most important asset – your business reputation.

By description, this is a protocol designed for transfer of time around a computer network. It works through a hierarchy composed of several strata starting with Stratum 0 which provides the external source of time. Stratum 1 gets the accurate time from a hardware clock which can be got through GPS signals as they are the safest and most reliable. This is because of the many satellites that orbit the earth at any one time. The references are not limited to these as radio signals and broadcasts also provide a safe and relatively reliable source of time. The broadcasts vary with locations and are not as centralized as the GPS signals but they all provide related times, if not equal. Some common ones include MSF from the UK, JJY from Japan and WWVB from the USA.

Reliability being the main issue means that there is need for backup reference clocks in the unlikely event of a signal outage.

These references provide the time with the same precision as the signals and are able to maintain a holdover for extended periods until the signals are regained. These backups are expensive however and the reasons for getting them should be more than the reasons for foregoing them. If you decide you need them to maintain the time then there are crystal oscillators that come at a good price.

NTP client software is usually provided with most OS. Linux has GNU public licence NTP client while Windows has Windows Time service. The advantage of having NTV servers is that is to make sure that the time-stamped transactions are carried out in the specified order. They are the missing link between network time distribution and the global time scale and should be an integral part of any company or organization.
